What is GK?

What is GK?

It refers to the unpainted resin module kit, which is a kind of collection model, and is also one of the peripherals of Japanese animation. The original English is Garage Kits (GK), which means the "Model Kits". Specially referred to as unpainted assembled model kits require a series of complicated processes such as grinding, assembling, and coloring by the players themselves, and the difficulty is far greater than that of general model production. The main material is resin. Later, because of misunderstandings, it was also used as a humanoid work that included all the resin materials of the finished product, but its original meaning was specifically referring to unpainted modules. It is also used to refer to the human form, which is the general term for all the collection of character models. Hands are generally divided into several types.

GK, the abbreviation of GARAGE KIT, literally means the meaning of the package module. Because of the difficulty in opening the mold, the price is generally very expensive. Because of the characteristics of the resin material, it is very suitable for the performance of very detailed details and characters. Most of the hands are white semi-finished products provided by the factory, which require a series of complicated processes such as polishing, assembling, and coloring, and the difficulty is much greater than that of general models. In terms of coloring alone, it requires a certain amount of art skills as well as expensive painting tools such as airbrushes.
