It’s a miracle. The statue of Dionysus was unearthed in Rome 2000 years ago

Italian archaeologists have found a well-preserved marble head statue at a site in central Rome near the square of ancient Rome. Because of its young face and femininity, the statue is considered the "god of wine" Dionysus.

It is reported that the head statue was found under medieval walls, dating back to the ancient Roman Empire in the first century BC. In the Middle Ages, statues were often built into buildings as building materials. "Rome surprises us every day," said Virginia Raggi, mayor of Rome. "it's a miracle."

Experts say the statue's eyes may have been inlaid with expensive jewelry, and when the surface has been cleaned, it may be possible to speculate on the original color.
